Two factors impair light transmission through a scuba mask lens, opacity and surface reflection. While low quality, green float glass has a transparency of 86% and Atomic Ultra Clear lenses transmit 92% of the available light, both still reflect at the surface. With Atomic Anti-Reflective Coating or ARC technology, the over-all light transmission is increased to 98% by nearly eliminating reflected light. The result is clearer, crisper vision, especially in adverse conditions.
